There have been many rumors regarding the Untitled Gareth Edwards Directed Star Wars Spin-Off, which will be the first of many standalone movies to take place within the universe. Since these spinoffs were announced by Disney and Lucasfilm, it has been rumored that the initial two movies will revolve around Han Solo and Boba Fett. Though it wasn't known which character would reach the screen first. For a while, it was believed that Boba Fett would get his own solo adventure in 2016. That then turned into a movie focused primarily on the world of Bounty Hunters, with Boba as one of the characters. In recent weeks, it has been rumored that Gareth Edwards is actually making a movie about a young Han Solo. But now, Badass Digest is suggesting that the movie will actually be about Space Pirates.

In all likely hood, while the movie will focus on a team of space pirates, one of them will be a young Han Solo. This actually makes sense in regards to the recent casting rumors that Breaking Bad star Aaron Paul is headlining the Untitled Gareth Edwards Directed Star Wars Spin-Off. It was always believed that he wasn't hired to play Han Solo. This new rumor indicates that he may be playing the leader of this rouge group of space smugglers, or serve as a mentor to the young Han Solo.

As of now, there hasn't been any official word on which character will be at the center of the first Star Wars spinoff. It has been given an official release date of December 16, 2016. And will begin filming at London's Pinewood Studios near the tail end of production on Spectre, the 24th Bond movie, which is shooting now. It was recently rumored that there will be an overlap in shooting at Pinewood between Star Wars: Episode VIII and Untitled Gareth Edwards Directed Star Wars Spin-Off, which seems to hint that the two films maybe sharing actors. We won't know for sure until Disney or Lucasfilm offer any official word on what we can expect.
