During the D23 Expo this weekend, Disney and LucasFilm revealed the first official cast photo for Star Wars Anthology: Rogue One, which is currently in production at Pinewood Studios in London. The image gave us our first look at Felicity Jones, Diego Luna, Jiang Wen and Donnie Yen, although these characters' identities were not yet revealed. Shortly after the image debuted, an interesting theory started sprouting up, which posits that Diego Luna may be playing a character already established in the Star Wars universe, Biggs Darklighter.

Twitter user Eleven Thirty Ate posted a side-by-side photo of Diego Luna in this new image, and Garrick Hagon as Biggs Darklighter from Star Wars: Episode IV - A New Hope, which suggests that they both have very similar hairstyles and mustaches. That is by no means a full confirmation, but the possibility is certainly intriguing, especially since no details about any of these characters have been released. We know that Star Wars: Rogue One is set between Star Wars: Episode III - Revenge of the Sith and Star Wars: Episode IV - A New Hope, but the exact timeline has yet to be confirmed.

In Star Wars: Episode IV - A New Hope, Biggs Darklighter grew up with Luke Skywalker (Mark Hamill), but he ended up leaving early for the Academy. He fought alongside his old friend in the Battle of Yavin, where Biggs was known as Red Three. He died in that battle, but this anthology movie could give us some insight into his background on Tatooine. It isn't known if Luke Skywalker himself will actually be featured in this story or not, but it seems unlikely.

This report comes just a few weeks after a rumor surfaced that claimed Felicity Jones' character is actually the daughter of Boba Fett, but that was never confirmed. With production currently under way, under the direction of Gareth Edwards (Godzilla), hopefully we'll learn much more about this highly-anticipated spinoff. The supporting cast also includes Sam Claflin, Ben Mendelsohn and Forest Whitaker, who weren't featured in the official image.

Star Wars Anthology: Rogue One hits theaters next December, between the release of Star Wars: The Force Awakens and writer-director Rian Johnson's Star Wars: Episode VIII, arriving in May 2017. After that, LucasFilm will release Star Wars Anthology: Han Solo Movie in May 2018, and Star Wars: Episode IX sometime in 2019. While we wait for details on all of these highly-anticipated projects, check out Eleven Thirty Ate's side-by-side photo below, and let us know if you think Diego Luna is playing Biggs Darklighter.
