Arrow star Stephen Amell is one of the few actors who constantly gives the fans regular updates on his official Facebook page, but the CW Network star decided to clear the air on a long-rumored topic: his possible involvement in Warner Bros.' Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice. Take a look at his official statement, then read on to learn why he issued it in the first place.

"Hey Guys -- I appreciate all the support and enthusiasm, but not everything I post is a cryptic indicator that I'm going to be in Batman v Superman. I'm not going to be in Batman v Superman. As an aside... The next time that I either do a video or an interview with a journalist that I like, I'll be happy to explain why this is the case. Short form - it's not a barometer on ability or the quality of genre - TV V Film, no pun intended. Everything here boils down to logistics. In any event... thank you for how much support you've showed me. But keep in mind, playing Arrow on television isn't a consolation prize. We play the definitive versions of our characters in the DC Universe."

Yesterday, the actor revealed his Comic-Con 2014 plans in a lengthy post, which included the following excerpt.

"You know I'm going to be at San Diego Comic-Con International this year, but you have no idea what I'm going to be doing. The Arrow panel on Friday evening is the literal tip of the iceberg. Feel free to speculate. There are (at least) 3 more things on my schedule. Big things. Needless to say, I plan on winning Comic-Con this year. Captain Style."

Many fans took him up on that "feel free to speculate" offer, asking if he will play Green Arrow in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, which lead to his clarification. Of course, this isn't the first time that he has had to clear the air about his cryptic social media posts.

Back in November 2013, the actor posted two comic book covers that featured Green Arrow with the rest of the Justice League characters. Just days later, Arrow executive producer Greg Berlanti debunked the speculation, revealing that there have been no talks about crossing Green Arrow over from the small to the big screen. Then, again, in January, Stephen Amell said that he has "had discussions" about joining the Justice League cast, comments which he went on to clarify later that day.
