Warner Bros. has picked up rights to David Menasche's memoir entitled The Priority List: A Teacher's Final Quest to Discover Life's Greatest Lessons with Steve Carell set to headline in the drama. The book was published this year.

David Menasche was a Miami high school teacher, who was given a few months to live after being diagnosed with a deadly form of brain cancer. After several surgeries and chemo he managed to overcome the disease, but a seizure ended his teaching career in 2012.

He went on to take part in a cross-country journey to reconnect with his former students from his teaching career. He comes to terms with his illness and learns to live fully in the present. He is still alive.

Steve Carell will also be producing with Carousel Productions' Charlie Hartsock and Vance DeGeneres. No other cast or production details have been revealed.
