Robopocalypse has found not one but two studio homes, with 20th Century Fox and Walt Disney Pictures teaming up to co-finance the sci-fi adaptation. Under the terms of the deal, Disney will distribute Robopocalypse domestically, while 20th Century Fox will roll out the picture internationally.

Back in October, we reported that Steven Spielberg attached himself to direct Robopocalypse. Cloverfield screenwriter Drew Goddard is adapting the screenplay from Danile H. Wilson's novel, which was published in June by Doubleday.

It is said that the studios are eyeing a summer 2013 release, possibly over the 4th of July weekend. It isn't known when production will begin on Robopocalypse.
