Edgar Allan Poe's short story The System of Doctor Tarr and Professor Fether comes to life in the first trailer and a new poster for Stonehearst Asylum, formerly known as Eliza Graves. Jim Sturgess stars as Edward Newgate, a medical school graduate who takes a job at a mental institution, who becomes smitten with one of its patients, Eliza Graves (Kate Beckinsale). He soon comes to realize that the actual doctors have been locked away in the basement, with the patients now running the asylum.
