IMAX Corporation, Warner Bros. Pictures and Legendary Pictures announced today that Zack Snyder's epic action fantasy feature film Sucker Punch will be released in the immersive IMAX format on Friday, March 25th. The film will open on 229 IMAX screens domestically, simultaneous with its North American wide release. The film will also open on at least 78 IMAX screens internationally, with 22 screens releasing day-and-date. Additional international playdates are expected to be confirmed in the coming days.

Sucker Punch has been digitally re-mastered into the image and sound quality of The IMAX Experience with proprietary IMAX DMR (Digital Re-mastering) technology for presentation in IMAX. The crystal-clear images, coupled with IMAX's customized theatre geometry and powerful digital audio, create a unique immersive environment that will make audiences feel as if they are in the movie.

About Sucker Punch:

Close your eyes. Open your mind. You will be unprepared. Sucker Punch takes us into the vivid imagination of a young girl whose dream world provides the ultimate escape from her darker reality. Unrestrained by the boundaries of time and place, she is free to go where her mind takes her, and her incredible adventures blur the lines between what's real and what is imaginary. She has been locked away against her will, but Babydoll (Emily Browning) has not lost her will to survive. Determined to fight for her freedom, she urges four other young girls-- the reluctant Sweet Pea (Abbie Cornish), the outspoken Rocket (Jena Malone), the street-smart Blondie (Vanessa Hudgens) and the fiercely loyal Amber (Jamie Chung)--to band together and try to escape their terrible fate at the hands of their captors, Blue (Oscar Isaac) and Madam Gorski (Carla Gugino), before the High Roller (Jon Hamm) comes for Babydoll. Led by Babydoll, the girls engage in fantastical warfare against everything from samurais to serpents, with a virtual arsenal at their disposal. Sucker Punch is directed and produced by Zack Snyder and produced by Deborah Snyder, with Thomas Tull, Wesley Coller, Jon Jashni, Christopher DeFaria, Jim Rowe and William Fay serving as executive producers. The screenplay was written by Zack Snyder & Steve Shibuya from a story by Zack Snyder.

This film has been rated PG-13 for thematic material involving sexuality, violence and combat sequences, and for language.
