More footage doesn't necessarily mean a better movie. But the extended edition of Batman V Superman was a hit for Warner Bros. And even though director David Ayer said his Suicide Squad wouldn't be getting the same kind of treatment, Warner Bros. Home Video decided it was a good move. With this longer version just around the corner, Warner Bros. has released a brand new TV spot to remind you of its imminent arrival. And guess what? It features more previously unseen footage of Jared Leto as The Joker! Here's the movie's official synopsis.

"It feels good to be bad...Assemble a team of the world's most dangerous, incarcerated Super Villains, provide them with the most powerful arsenal at the government's disposal, and send them off on a mission to defeat an enigmatic, insuperable entity. U.S. intelligence officer Amanda Waller has determined only a secretly convened group of disparate, despicable individuals with next to nothing to lose will do. However, once they realize they weren't picked to succeed but chosen for their patent culpability when they inevitably fail, will the Suicide Squad resolve to die trying, or decide it's every man for himself?"

The new Joker footage revealed here is believed to be part of a scene that was largely circulated via leaked set photos and video during production. Harley Quinn and The Joker are seen fighting in the street. Harley pulls a gun on The Joker, but he wrestles it away from her. Today, we get to hear some of the Joker's dialogue from this scene, which helps further develop the romance between these two iconic DC super villains.

The Suicide Squad extended edition Blu-ray is confirmed to have 11 minutes of new footage. No full sneak peek at these missing scenes has been released yet. But a video debuted in August detailing a number of the deleted scenes that were hinted at in trailers and other footage, and it was a lot. An earlier report claimed that there would be 13 minutes of previously-unseen footage, but it appears David Ayer trimmed that back a bit before the official release of this latest version of the movie.

The Blu-ray special features include Task Force X: One Team, One Mission, where fans can discover the rich legacy of DC's most infamous bad guys. There is also Squad Strength and Skills, which offers the "inside story" of how the cast got into shape for this movie, Joker and Harley: The 'It' Couple of the Underworld, which showcases The Joker and Harley Quinn's relationship, Chasing the Real, where writer/director David Ayer reveals techniques for creating an authentic surreal world, along with a Gag Reel.
