We've already heard plenty of stories about Jared Leto's The Joker on the Suicide Squad set, ever since production started in Toronto back in April. Last week, it was revealed that the actor, who wasn't able to make it for rehearsals, sent a number of creepy gifts to his cast mates, such as a live rat to Margot Robbie, bullets and a dead hog to Will Smith, accompanied by a video that showed the actor in character as The Joker. While doing press for Terminator Genisys, Jai Courtney revealed that he actually adopted the rat for a week, and that the animal now resides with a famous director.

"I did adopt the rat for one week. It's bounced from house to house. Do you know where the rat is right now? The owner of that rat The Joker gave to Harley Quinn, is now living with Guillermo del Toro."

Collier reached out to Guillermo del Toro himself, who confirmed that the rat is living with him in Toronto, and that he renamed him Venustiano, presumably after Mexican Revolution leader José Venustiano Carranza Garza.

"The rat is living with us in Toronto and he, and his massive ballsack, provide the house with great cheer and joy! We have re-named him Venustiano."

Since the filmmaker has no official ties to Suicide Squad, he was also asked how the rat came into his possession. The filmmaker revealed that Suicide Squad production designer Kate Hawley, who he worked with on Pacific Rim and Crimson Peak, reached out to Guillermo del Toro to see if he would adopt said rat.

"We did Pacific Rim and Crimson Peak together and she knew we are a family that loves rats-and most animals, really. She asked and we agreed!"
