Last week, Warner Bros.' Suicide Squad was dealt a major blow when star Tom Hardy backed away from playing Rick Flagg. Jake Gyllenhaal is reportedly being eyed to replace him. While that has yet to be confirmed, another report claims that Tom Hardy left the project because his character is featured far less in the latest draft of the script. Today, Latino Review has plot details from this most recent script, which, if true, could very well be the reason why Tom Hardy backed out. Although these details have yet to be confirmed, there will be some massive SPOILERS that follow, so read on at your own risk.

In the newest version of the script, Rick Flagg is described as a "watchdog" who is overseeing Amanda Waller (Viola Davis) and her operation. Waller is said to be "tracking down and capturing every super-powered hero and villain". While it is implied that she is also after Batman, he never makes an appearance in Suicide Squad. Flagg is described as "a government agent more than anything else" throughout the majority of the story, but this is before the movie's big ending twist, where Flagg is revealed to be a villain, working with his father, Rick Flagg Sr., whose group wants the weapons that Waller has amassed. The twist is said to "come out of left field," and is believed to be why Tom Hardy abruptly backed out of the project.

We also have new details about the beginning of the movie, which finds Deadshot (Will Smith) trying to assassinate an inmate being transferred to Arkham. His mission is "interrupted" by Harley Quinn (Margot Robbie), who is trying to break The Joker (Jared Leto) out of the Asylum. Both Deadshot and Harley Quinn are captured and moved to Waller's prison, along with The Joker, who reportedly spends much of the film in his cell, "very much like Hannibal Lecter," until the very end. Boomerang (Jai Courtney) is already in the Squad, and has a bone to pick with Deadshot, since Deadshot killed Boomerang's father. Once the team is assembled and strapped with explosive devices, they are tasked with stopping Lex Luthor (Jesse Eisenberg); who was already rumored to star) from purchasing "bio weaponry" from a gang of human traffickers. The gang is handing over Enchantress (Cara Delevingne) as a part of this deal, but the Squad captures her instead and takes her back to the prison, where she is kept in an underground area with "genetic freaks" such as King Shark.

The prison is Belle Reve, which is home to many villains in Suicide Squad. The third act reportedly climaxes with a massive prison riot where most of the inmates escape, including The Joker, who kills several people. There is reportedly a lot of action scenes in the script, with the story focusing primarily on Deadshot, Harley Quinn and The Joker. The Joker is said to have "a large part" in the movie, but he doesn't spring into action until the prison riot. The script has been getting "much praise in the studio," according to these unnamed sources. What do you think about these new Suicide Squad details? Chime in with your thoughts below.
