Arrow and The Flash co-creator Greg Berlanti is moving from The CW to CBS in bringing his latest DC Comics superhero series to life. He is hoping to make Supergirl fly on her own at the network, and it looks like shooting has wrapped on the pilot. Melissa Benoist, who stars as the title character Kara Danvers/Zor El sent out a tweet to mark the occasion. As did director of the episode Glen Winter.

Supergirl will follow Kara Zor-El, a Kryptonian girl who's been hiding her powers here on Earth, but decides to embrace who she truly is, and become the hero she was always meant to be. The Supergirl cast also includes Laura Benanti as Kara's mother, Alura Zor-El; Calista Flockhart as Cat Grant, the head of CatCo and Kara's boss; Dean Cain and Helen Slater, rumored to play Kara's foster parents; and Owain Yeoman and Jeremy Jordan as villains. Mehcad Brooks will star as Jimmy Olsen.

It is not yet known when we'll get our first look at footage from Supergirl. Earlier in the year, CBS and DC released an official look at Melissa Benoist in full costume as Kara Zor El. Adi Adler and Greg Berlanti wrote the pilot script and will executive produce the series as it moves forward. CBS is slated to present it's Fall 2015 line-up to potential advertisers this May, so its possible that we'll get our first look at footage then. Crossovers with Arrow and The Flash are expected if the show continues on into the future, but that has never been confirmed. Take a look at the tweets, and if you missed them the first time around, we also have another look at Supergirl:
