‘Team America’ tops ‘White Noise’

According to The Hollywood Reporter, In the shadow of the record theatrical opening for the sixth and final Star Wars film, a troupe of militaristic marionettes stormed to the top of VideoScan's First Alert sales chart for the week ending May 22.

Paramount Home Entertainment's Team America: World Police, from South Park creators Trey Parker and Matt Stone, beat out the horror hit White Noise in the first-week face-off even though it earned nearly $25 million less at the boxoffice. The unrated version of Team America handily outsold the tamer, rated version by a margin of 5 to 1, underscoring the film's appeal to the lucrative young-male demographic.

Team America: World Police was released October 15th, 2004.
