Arrow star Stephen Amell has signed on to play Casey Jones in Paramount's Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 2. Producer Andrew Form revealed back in December that they are "trying to fit" the Casey Jones character into the sequel, which will also include beloved villains such as Bebop and Rocksteady. Casey Jones was originally played by Elias Koteas in the 1990 Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles movie.

Variety reports that Stephen Amell tested with a half-dozen other actors over the weekend, but it was his chemistry with Megan Fox, who is returning as April O'Neil, that won him the part. Will Arnett is also returning as Vern Fenwick, who was spotted over the weekend shooting scenes for the sequel with Alessandra Ambrosio. The supermodel is playing Vern's new love interest as herself. No other cast members have been confirmed at this time, but it is believed that Alan Ritchson (Raphael), Noel Fisher (Michelangelo), Pete Ploszek (Leonardo) and Jeremy Howard (Donatello) will return to play the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles.

Dave Green (Earth to Echo) is directing from a script by original Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles writers André Nemec and Josh Appelbaum. Michael Bay is returning to produce the sequel with his Platinum Dunes partners Bradley Fuller and Andrew Form. Stephen Amell can currently be seen as Oliver Queen on the hit CW series Arrow, and he will next be seen on the big screen in Whatever Makes You Happy alongside Susan Sarandon and Allison Janney.
