Sarah Connor (Emilia Clarke) saves the time travelling Kyle Reese (Jai Courtney) from the T-1000 (Byung-hun Lee) in the first of two new clips from Terminator Genisys, arriving in theaters July 1. Fans of the 1984 classic The Terminator will notice a few similarities between Kyle Reese's arrival, as he scurries through a department store, except in the original, Sarah doesn't come to Reese's rescue. The second clip shows Sarah explaining that the future Kyle thought he was being sent back to doesn't exist, as he meets Arnold Schwarzenegger's aging Terminator known as The Guardian for the first time.

When John Connor (Jason Clarke), leader of the human resistance, sends Sgt. Kyle Reese (Jai Courtney) back to 1984 to protect Sarah Connor (Emilia Clarke) and safeguard the future, an unexpected turn of events creates a fractured timeline. Now, Sgt. Reese finds himself in a new and unfamiliar version of the past, where he is faced with unlikely allies, including the Guardian (Arnold Schwarzenegger), dangerous new enemies, and an unexpected new mission: To reset the future.

The supporting cast is rounded out by J.K. Simmons, Matt Smith, Douglas Smith, Sandrine Holt and Courtney B. Vance in director Alan Taylor's sci-fi action thriller. Terminator Genisys is the first movie in a planned trilogy, with Paramount setting a May 19, 2017 release for the first sequel, and a June 29, 2018 release for the third untitled project. While we wait for more details on the sequel, check out the two new clips from Terminator Genisys below.
