Actor Terrence Howard has joined the growing cast of Dead Man Down for IM Global and director Niels Arden Oplev (The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo).

The story centers on Noomi Rapace's character, who enlists the help of a shady criminal (Colin Farrell) to get revenge on the mob boss who murdered her family. Terrence Howard will play the crime lord, Alphonse Hoyt, who is used to being feared before this revenge-seeking duo wreaks havoc on his crime enterprise. We reported yesterday that Dominic Cooper will play Colin Farrell's partner on the street.

Niels Arden Oplev will direct from a screenplay by J.H. Wyman, who is also producing alongside Neal H. Moritz. Reid Shane and Ori Marmur are executive producing. Production is scheduled to begin later this month in Philadelphia.
