Actor Josh Gad has joined the growing cast of the indie comedy Thanks for Sharing alongside Mark Ruffalo and Tim Robbins. We reported earlier this month that actresses Gwyneth Paltrow and Joely Richardson signed on as well.

The story centers on a support group for sex addicts, who try and beat their addictions and form meaningful relationships for the first time. Josh Gad will play an uninhibited addict, who cuts corners through recovery until Mark Ruffalo's character becomes his sponsor.

The Kids Are All Right screenwriter Stuart Blumberg makes his directorial debut with Thanks for Sharing, working from the original screenplay he co-wrote with Matt Winston. Production starts later this month in New York City.

Josh Gad recently received a Tony nomination for his performance in the Broadway musical The Book of Mormon, which was written by South Park creators Trey Parker and Matt Stone.
