We have been hearing a lot about The Amazing Spider-Man 2 lately, although a specific production start date has never been released. Enter star Andrew Garfield, who recently appeared on Ellen: The Ellen DeGeneres Show, where he revealed the production start date for The Amazing Spider-Man 2.

"February we start the next one. We're in pre-production. We have a script, and it's very, very good."

Andrew Garfield needs to brush up on his comic book lingo. In terms of quality and condition, Very Good is a 3 out of 10. Hopefully, they can get the script up to Mint (10 out of 10) condition before shooting starts, or at least Very Fine (7).

Earlier this week, director Marc Webb confirmed rumors that the sequel will feature a brand new Spidey suit, complete with "gnarly web shooters." The star revealed the real reason why the costume is getting an overhaul.

"The suit is undergoing a redesign because I couldn't urinate in it last time. So I'm less nervous 'cause that's gonna be nice."

The actor also said he wants this follow-up to explore Peter Parker's troubled past, with his parents leaving him behind.

"I feel really excited. I feel like we got over a hump with our first one. We had to reinstate the character, and we had to reinvigorate an audience to the character. And I hope to bring more of this theme-the theme of the orphan. I want to keep exploring that theme of being fatherless, being motherless, searching for purpose and finding a purpose within himself, being a self-made man, I guess."

Andrew Garfield also revealed that he takes this role very seriously.

"It is a responsibility to play that role, and I don't take it lightly. I think there's so much to explore with that mythology and within the tension between living a double life, struggling with being good, struggling with choosing good behavior over bad behavior, with the pressures of a city on your shoulders."
