One of the major differences between The Amazing Spider-Man and the original Spider-Man trilogy is that Peter Parker's best bud Harry Osborn was nowhere to be found. Sony plans on changing that with the sequel The Amazing Spider-Man 2, with actors such as Dane DeHaan (Chronicle), Brady Corbet (Melancholia), and Alden Ehrenreich (Beautiful Creatures) trying out for the part later this week.

The role was originally crafted for a bulkier, athletic actor, although now the part is being revamped to attract a, "dark and edgy" thespian. Andrew Garfield and Emma Stone are returning as Peter and Gwen Stacy, with Oscar nominee Shailene Woodley (The Descendants) confirmed to play Mary Jane Watson. Jamie Foxx has also been rumored to play the villain Electro, although that has not been confirmed.

Marc Webb will direct from a screenplay by Roberto Orci, Alex Kurtzman, and Jeff Pinkner.
