I get this vibe that Garfield's trying too hard to be dorky. He doesn't have McGuire's natural talent... Hmm, did that sound mean?

@ROFLitschristian Well if they actaully had it come from his body in a organic way, it would need to come from his butt. That's why Stan Lee didn't do it that way.

In other words, Mechanical Webshooters are better.

@SpaceCowboy Ultimate Spider-man is a character in the Ultimate Universe of Marvel Comics, arguably number 2 in popularity, beat out in popularity only by the main stream universe.

The Ultimate Spider-man series debuted before the first Spider-man film was released and that film borrowed some from that book but not nearly as much as the new film will.

If you haven't read Ultimate Spider-man or any of the Ultimate Universe comics, you should give it a look. They are the inspiration for many elements in films based on Marvel characters. From the look of thor in his film to The entire bases for the Avengers film (Nicky Fury assembling them) to the idea to cast Samuel L. Jackson as Nick Fury, which came from those books where they used his likeness for Ultimate Nick Fury. So, yeah it was a cop out to just cast Sam Jaxs, but it shows my point.

In conclusion, The Ultimate Universe predates most, if not all of, the films after 2001 so don't be confused.

... yeah, I don't like the looks (literally) of Garfield or Stone.

@SpaceCowboy JP was just telling you about an arc from the Ultimate Spider-Man line of comics. That comic book started a few years before the movie came out, so it stands to reason that you didn't read a book from that arc.

@SpaceCowboy Well that's different because he was having trouble with his powers. I'm saying for the reboot it's a lose-lose situation. If he keeps running out of web, that's annoying. But if he goes 3 movies without ever running out of web, it as well is annoying because what are the odds of that happening?

@ROFLitschristian Nah, it'll happen just once maybe. In Spider-Man 2 it was used kind of a lot, but really only one time stuck out which is when he was swinging, fell and had to use the elevator.

@SpaceCowboy Haha good point. It is coincidental that he just knew to fold his fingers but hey, it was good comic relief. I just feel like with the mechanical web they're going to reuse the same "my web's out, what am I going to do" aspect over and over again.

@jptheredskull I remember reading something called the Ultimate Spider-Man. It was right after I saw the first film from 2002. I didn't know if it was response or retelling of the movie, but if this is the same one you are mentioning then I can't say I see many parallels between that and The Amazing Spider-Man.

@ROFLitschristian I can understand why you might like the movies' version of the webbing. Probably because it seems more naturally for a Peter person to inherit all of spider's traits, including the webs. Watching the first movie, when he learns how to shoot his webs it makes no sense why folding down his middle fingers causes webs to come out of his wrists. I guess that was the reason the comics had him build a webshooter. And that's why I prefer the machine, even it's very odd that Peter got all the traits except webs. Though being a male may have something to do with it.

@jptheredskull I know it's respecting the source material, but I never preferred Spider-Man using mechanical web shooters. I'm not really sure why. Just never felt right. LoL.

If you guys wan t to know what this movie will be like, read Ultimate Spider-man: Power and Responsibility. The whole of this movie is inspired by that including the creation of the web fliud, how he gets his costume, and the fight scene at the school.

I don't think Emma have to reshoot any scenes. I think she is just hanging around the set while Andrew shoots his scenes, since they are supposedly dating.
