‘The Amazing Spider-Man’ Toy Confirms Lizard S.W.A.T. Team Fight

The Amazing Spider-Man doesn't swing into theaters until July 3, but a new Mega Blocks toy set has revealed an intriguing plot detail for this upcoming superhero reboot. Take a look at this Mega Blocks set entitled "Oscorp Tower FX Battle" in the photo below, and then read on for more The Amazing Spider-Man story details.

The Amazing Spider-Man Mega Bloks Toy Set

One of the figures included in this set is "SWAT Lizard," which seems to confirm a rumor from back in February that Rhys Ifans' villain the Lizard will be turning an entire SWAT team into reptile creatures not unlike himself.

Here's what an insider had to say about this particular scene below.

"One action set-piece towards the end of the film sees the Lizard transform a whole Swat team into scaly mutants that look like him. Then there's a huge battle. Some of the scene is based upon the famous issue of the comic in which Gwen Stacy died."

It hasn't been confirmed that this scene is where Emma Stone's Gwen Stacy actually dies in The Amazing Spider-Man. More details coming soon.

The Amazing Spider-Man was released July 3rd, 2012.

It is nice to see that studio executives have not learned anything from past mistakes. In a day and age where everyone needs to know everything (right) now, it might be nice to have some surprises. Clash of the Titians; being a sub-par movie showed what the Kraken (the real reason for seeing the movie) looked like months before the movie was released, so there was no real need to go watch the movie for its climatic ending. Spiderman seems to be fallowing in these footsteps, almost everyone knows the story (or some version) and the big draw is what the new villains will look like. With the cat out of the bag, all Spiderman has to go on is (hopefully) stunning visual effect of NYC (already done by Mr. Raimi version) and maybe movie (character) crossovers (no hope there).

I had a similar scene in a treatment I did for Spider-Man 4, in which the final battle involved Spider-Man trying to save The Lizard from himself while a SWAT team tried to kill him.

By the way, if Gwen Stacy dies because of the Lizard instead of Norman Osborn, I'm swearing the rest of this series off.

Mega Blocks? They couldn't even get Spidey a lego set? That's what I find sad...

It's probably just a gimmick....It's probaly the swat lizard is a add on because all those little bratz cry about not getting enough toys when they get their leggos
