South African film producer Anant Singh, who also serves as the chairman of Cape Town Film Studios, revealed on a local radio program that Marvel Studios has expressed interest in shooting The Avengers 2 in Cape Town, South Africa.

While nothing has been confirmed yet, this may indicate that Black Panther will be a part of this superhero ensemble.

Back in April, actor Morris Chestnut revealed that Black Panther (a.k.a. T'Challa), may be a part of The Avengers 2, although nothing has been confirmed yet by the studio. We also reported last month that the production will take place in London's Pinewood-Shepperton Studios in early 2014. Since the superhero sequel already has a studio lined up to shoot in, it seems possible that they may shoot exteriors in South Africa, which lends more credence to the Black Panther rumors.

T'Challa hails from the fictional African country of Wakanda, and possesses super-human strength, speed, stamina, reflexes, and heightened senses. Director Joss Whedon confirmed earlier today that Quicksilver and Scarlet Witch will be included in his sequel. Will Black Panther be along for the ride as well? Hopefully we will get confirmation of this character's inclusion soon.
