Bill Pohlad and John Wells are developing a biopic about Beach Boys founder Brian Wilson and have set Oren Moverman to write the script.

The duo have secured the life rights of the singer-producer as well as those of his wife Melinda Wilson.

"The film will take an unconventional look at Brian Wilson's unique musical process as well as his struggles with mental illness, and how he managed to persevere as an artist with the love and support of his wife Melinda," the producers said in a statement.

No production date has been set.
