Actor Shia LaBeouf is set to star in the political thriller The Company You Keep alongside Robert Redford.

The drama marks Robert Redford's first time in front of a camera since the 2007 movie Lions for Lambs, which he also directed. Lem Dobbs wrote the screenplay, which centers on a former Weather Underground militant (Robert Redford) who is forced out of hiding and on the lam when a young journalist (Shia LaBeouf) uncovers his true identity. The script is adapted from the novel of the same name written by Neil Gordon.

Robert Redford will produce The Company You Keep through his Wildwood Enterprises banner along with Bill Holderman and Voltage Pictures' Nicolas Chartier. Here's what Nicolas Chartier had to say about the project below.

"This is an edge-of-your-seat thriller about real Americans who stood for their beliefs, thinking they were patriots and defending their country's ideals against their government. It is absolutely amazing to have Shia LaBeouf, arguably the brightest young star in Hollywood today paired with the global icon Robert Redford."

Production is scheduled to start in Vancouver this September.
