Yesterday we reported that the highly-anticipated superhero tale The Dark Knight Rises recently started production, although no new cast members were revealed. Today we have news that Matthew Modine, Tom Conti, and Joey King have joined the cast.

No details were given about which characters this new trio of actors will portray. Christian Bale reprises his role as Bruce Wayne/Batman, while Morgan Freeman is back as Lucius Fox, Gary Oldman is playing Commissioner Gordon, and Michael Caine plays the noble butler Alfred once again. Newcomers to the franchise include Tom Hardy as Bane, Anne Hathaway as Selina Kyle/Catwoman, Marion Cotillard as Miranda Tate, and Joseph Gordon-Levitt as John Blake.

Christopher Nolan is directing from a screenplay he co-wrote with his brother, Jonathan Nolan. The Dark Knight Rises will be an international production, with shooting set to take place in Pittsburgh, New York, Los Angeles, London, and India.
