‘The Dark Knight Rises’ Viral Campaign Begins!

It seems Warner Bros. has kicked off its viral campaign for The Dark Knight Rises with a fake CIA "bulletin" for a missing Russian scientist named "Leonid Pavel." The mug shot appears to be actor Alon Aboutboul, although it isn't known how this ties into The Dark Knight Rises story line. Another CIA "document" reveals a redacted transcript, which also relates to the "missing" Dr. Pavel. Take a look at these new viral clues below.

It is said these documents are clues to, "a major cultural event," which could be The Dark Knight Rises prologue attached to IMAX prints of Mission: Impossible Ghost Protocol on December 16. We'll be sure to keep you posted on any further information about this viral campaign for The Dark Knight Rises as soon as we have more information.

The Dark Knight Rises was released July 20th, 2012.

On a side note, isn't it funny that an Israeli is playing a Russian nuclear physicist? :P

Does anybody know which website this is officially located at. It's just floating around everywhere. Like all the "TDK" viral campaign stuff is at whysoserious.com and this film's official site has only the logo with a trailer download option.

@slysnide Your guess is as good as mine. I searched online and found no results as to who he really is...might be a new character, or supposedly a Dr. Strange alias ;)

As bad as this sounds, anybody here not opposed to Batman taking an epic beating from Bane?

Leonid Pavel. Why does that name sound so familiar?

@ejk1 yea I'm pretty happy with how TDKR seems to be playing out. It all seems like Bane is a member of the LOS and this will tie him, Wayne, and Ras all together.

I heard the rumor that was rebuked was that Bruce Wayne was the one who was suppose to land the plane. that made it seem like Wayne and bane were once working together and now Bane has a grudge against him.

They don't call it venom from what I read. The description said he is in so much pain he has a constant feed of pain killer pumped into his body. Supposedly that's why he has that scar on his neck. So we will see Bane before he gets his mask.

@superman81 I heard that one as well, I'm pretty sure it was debunked as just a rumor though.

@superman81 Interesting. So pain killer instead of Venom, or is Venom a new designer drug?

From what I have read the prologue shows Bane and his team of mercenaries hijacking a plane with a dictator inside. He is successful in killing the dictator but can't land the plane so it crashes and that causes his wounds and that's why he needs the mask and pain killer that's pumped into his body.
