Director David Fincher revealed to Swedish site Svd.se that Joely Richardson, Steven Berkoff and David Dencik have all joined the cast of The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo.

It wasn't said which characters these new actors were portraying. They join a cast that already includes Daniel Craig, Rooney Mara, Robin Wright, Stellan Skarsgård and Christopher Plummer.

David Fincher is directing from a script by Steven Zaillian, adapted from Stieg Larsson's book of the same name. David Fincher also told the site that his movie would not be a remake of the Swedish film version of The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo, but more of a straight-up adaptation of the book:

"Steven Zaillian has written the new screenplay, and he has based it on the book and made his own version. Sure, there are scenes that will resemble those in the Swedish film, but it is the book that we are filming."

Production is currently under way in Stockholm.
