Joel Schumacher will direct The Hive for Troika Pictures Director Joel Schumacher has signed onto helm the new thriller The Hive for Troika Pictures.

Richard D'Ovidio (13 Ghosts) is writing this suspense-thriller, which centers on a 911 operator who is forced to confront a killer from her past in order to save the life of a young girl.

Robert Stein and Michael A. Helfant's Troika Pictures are behind the new project, although it isn't known when production will begin.

Joel Schumacher most recently directed Twelve, which starred Chace Crawford, Rory Culkin, and 50 Cent.

Troika is also lining up a few other projects as well, such as Paradise Cove for director Kenny Ortega, Ten which Ice Cube will produce and star in, and One Fell Swoop for director Charles Herman-Wurmfeld.

    @jptheredskull I try and keep the Tim Burton batman universe seperate from the others. As i do with Nolan's version. Both jokers were great and to this day i hate trying to decide which is better. I love both.

      @skywise Yeah. The best film in that series was the first one with Jack Nicholson as the Joker. Not only did that film setup a great cartoon, it featured arguably the best Joker portayal, however, tied with Mark Hamill's voiceover work and Heath Ledger's portrayal.

          @jptheredskull not just that but his films were populated by giant, nude men statues which...well...thats not Gotham.

          Anyway i wont say another word about those films...i just pretend they dont exist.

            I dont know what to think of this. On the one hand he has made some pretty damn intense and brilliant movies but then he made those batman movies. I just dont know...
