Two new pieces of promo art have been discovered this morning from The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug. The first offers a look at the infamous and iconic river barrel race, which serves as one of the key set pieces in director Peter Jackson's upcoming sequel and features all of the dwarves. The second piece finds Bilbo (Martin Freeman) coming face to face with Smaug the Dragon (Benedict Cumberbatch). These pieces of promo art will be used later in the year to sell toys, books, posters and candy.

The second image can work as a really good poster if it's done right.
