Actor Al Pacino and director Barry Levinson are slated to reunite with the mob biopic Gotti: Three Generations. However, they will team up on The Humbling adaptation first.

The Humbling is based on the novel by Philip Roth, which centers on a famous New York stage actor (Al Pacino) who is rejuvenated by retiring to his upstate New York farm and shacking up with random women. Buck Henry, Michael Zebede, and Barry Levinson penned the screenplay adaptation.

It is said that the director is looking to start casting right away, with key roles such as the actor's agent and a young female lead to be among the main characters. Millennium Films/Nu Image will finance the project, which is eyeing a fall production start.

As for Gotti: Three Generations, it isn't known when production may start on that project.
