The Hunger Games: Catching Fire is nearing its production start, and a new report reveals that shooting will take place in Atlanta, Georgia this summer.

Filming will take place between July and December in Atlanta and other surrounding areas. The Hunger Games, which has taken in a whopping $645 million worldwide, was shot in North Carolina. No reason was given for the production location switch.

Francis Lawrence is directing from a screenplay by Michael Arndt and Simon Beaufoy, which is adapted from Suzanne Collins' second novel in The Hunger Games series. Jennifer Lawrence, Josh Hutcherson, and Liam Hemsworth are returning as main cast members Katniss, Peeta, and Gale.

The sequel still has to make a choice on who to cast as Finnick Odair, the past Hunger Games winner who returns to the battleground. We reported last week that Armie Hammer, Garrett Hedlund, and Taylor Kitsch are the top candidates, although Taylor Kitsch revealed a few days later that he is no longer in the running for this part.
