Commercial and music video director Anthony Mandler is in early talks to direct The Last Days of American Crime. Noomi Rapace and Sam Worthington were previously added to the cast.

The story is based on a graphic novel from Radical Publishing and takes place in the future, as America responds to a second major terrorism attack by developing technology that eliminates the impulse to commit crimes of any kind. The central character leads a heist team that plans to pull off a final job five days before the signal rubs out the criminal instinct.

The director has worked with Rihanna, Jay-Z and Eminem on music videos and with David Beckham on commercials. F. Gary Gray was also eyeing the project, but recently lost interest.
