David Slade is in talks to direct Noomi Rapace in The Last Voyage of the Demeter
The Twilight Saga: Eclipse director David Slade is in talks to helm The Last Voyage of Demeter for Phoenix Pictures. Stefan Ruzowitzky was previously attached to direct this project, which has been in development for several years, before he left to direct Blackbird last month.

Bragi F. Schut wrote the screenplay, which follows the ship Demeter as it carries Dracula's coffin from Transylvania to London. Although the voyage isn't touched upon much in Bram Stoker's original novel, The Last Voyage of Demeter finally tells the tale of that journey where passengers and crew are mysteriously murdered one by one. In the novel, the boat washes ashore in London with just only one maniacal survivor: Dracula!

We reported in October that Noomi Rapace and Ben Kingsley had signed onto star. Noomi Rapace will play a stowaway on the Demeter. It hasn't been revealed what part Ben Kingsley will play.

It isn't clear when The Last Voyage of Demeter will start production, since financing isn't completely secured yet.
