Back in April, we reported that former The White Stripes front man Jack White will write, produce, and perform the score for The Lone Ranger. Today, we have word that the musician has pulled out due to scheduling conflicts, and that Hans Zimmer is stepping in to compose a different score.

Jack White will still contribute music to the score, although he will not be in charge of crafting the entire composition. Eagle-eyed viewers may have noticed Hans Zimmer's name attached to the credits on the second trailer that debuted earlier this week.

The composer will reunite with director Gore Verbinski and producer Jerry Bruckheimer on this action-adventure, after composing the score for all four Pirates of the Caribbean movies.

Johnny Depp stars as Tonto, who helps Texas Ranger John Reid (Armie Hammer) transform into The Lone Ranger to fight injustice throughout the Old West. Ruth Wilson, Helena Bonham Carter, and Tom Wilkinson also star.
