‘The Raid: Redemption’ Sequel ‘Berandal’ to Take Place 2 Hours After Original Movie

Gareth Evans hints at plot points in The Raid sequel Berandal Back in February, we reported that Sony Pictures acquired the rights to a sequel for the popular action-thriller The Raid: Redemption. We haven't heard much about this follow-up, entitled Berandal since then, except that Gareth Evans is returning to direct. Yesterday, the filmmaker teased new details regarding Berandal through his Twitter account, revealing the story will take place just hours after The Raid: Redemption's ending, and that production is scheduled to take place very soon.

Iko Uwais is believed to reprise his role as Rama in Berandal, although no further casting details have been revealed. With a production start date just weeks away, hopefully more details will be unveiled regarding this action-packed follow-up.

The Raid: Redemption was released March 23rd, 2012.

The Raid 2 was released March 28th, 2014.
