The Rise of Skywalker appears to contains some hidden dialogue between Kylo Ren and Rey. Eagle-eyed Star Wars fans noticed that J.J. Abrams and Lucasfilm may have taken out some dialogue at the last minute. Now that the final installment in the Skywalker Saga is finally in theaters, fans have been able to go enjoy the movie multiple times, which Disney thanks them for as the sequel continues to do well on the big screen. With that being said, these repeat viewers are also finding more evidence that the ending of the movie may have been changed late in the game. There are SPOILERS for The Rise of Skywalker below, so read ahead at your own risk.

It sure looks like Rey is telling Ben Solo something important moments before his death in The Rise of Skywalker. An 8-second clip from the movie has found its way on social media and one can easily see Daisy Ridley's lips moving while Adam Driver is reacting to what she is saying. However, the dialogue has been removed, though it is unclear why at this time. Maybe J.J. Abrams will explain this in a director's commentary down the road.

It's possible she could be reiterating that she was willing to take Ben Solo's hand and not Kylo Ren's. She could be expressing her undying love to him. The fact of the matter is that we really have no idea. However, some hardcore Star Wars fans are under the assumption that Ben Solo wasn't originally going to die at all. We know that work was being done on the movie up until a few weeks before it hit theaters and that there were some rather extensive Star Wars reshoots that took place.

Obviously, the only people who really know about The Rise of Skywalker story and its different iterations are J.J. Abrams, Lucasfilm, and Disney. Adam Driver claimed for months that he has known Kylo Ren's fate since the beginning, though he went silent about it in the months leading up to the movie's release. There are Twitter and Reddit threads about how the movie changed drastically in the final edits, though this is unconfirmed at this point.

Would The Rise of Skywalker have been better had Ben Solo lived? Was he originally supposed to gleefully slide down the sand dune on Tatooine with Rey and then look out at the binary sunset, along with the Force Ghosts of his mother and uncle? That could very well be the case and there are some pretty convincing arguments floating around. As usual, we won't really know the truth unless J.J. Abrams and Lucasfilm reveal their secrets in the near future.
