Coming Soon is reporting that Columbia Pictures has set an October 15, 2010 release date for director David Fincher's The Social Network, starring Jesse Eisenberg, Justin Timberlake, Andrew Garfield and Joe Mazzello. Also being released that day is Faster, CBS Films' action-drama starring Dwayne Johnson and Billy Bob Thornton.

Written by Aaron Sorkin, The Social Network has a rumored $47 million budget. Based on Ben Mezrich's book "The Accidental Billionaires: The Founding of Facebook, a Tale of Sex, Money, Genius and Betrayal", The Social Network tells the story of Eduardo Saverin and Mark Zuckerberg, the founders of Facebook.

Timberlake plays internet entrepreneur Sean Parker, the co-founder of Napster), who began informally advising Mark Zuckerberg (played in the film by Jesse Eisenberg), the co-creator of Facebook, and later became its president when the company incorporated in 2004.
