According to The Hollywood Reporter, one-time Black Widow star Theresa Russell has become ensnared in Spidey's web. The actress has joined the cast of Spider-Man 3 for Columbia Pictures.
Russell will play Mrs. Marko, the wife of Flint Marko, aka the Sandman (Thomas Haden Church). Plot details from Alvin Sargent's screenplay are scarce, though it is known that the villainous couple has a daughter. Sam Raimi is helming the movie, and he co-wrote the story with his brother, Ivan Raimi.
Shooting is set to start this month.
