While Americans were celebrating the 4th of July holiday on Monday, production was just getting under way on Marvel's new Phase 3 adventure Thor: Ragnarok, with filming taking place in star Chris Hemsworth's home country of Australia. We have already seen the first set photo, courtesy of director Taika Waititi, but today we have yet another photo and a brief video from Chris Hemsworth himself. While we don't actually get to see much of the set in the actor's video, we do get to see one of the big perks.

Chris Hemsworth posted both the video and photo on Instagram last night. The video features the star walking around the studio, showing off the roller coaster that he requested, which he states is one of the "perks" of being Thor. Unfortunately, the actor wasn't in costume while shooting this video, so we don't know when we'll get to see the actor in full costume as the mighty Asgardian at this time. Here's what the actor had to say in his video below.

"Here we are, beginning of shooting for Thor 3 at the studios. I'm all trained, got my shake, got my shoes, and as requested, got my roller coaster here. So, it's just a little something - one of the perks that comes with being Thor. So, see you later."

The roller coaster is actually part of Warner Bros. Movie World, an amusement park which is close to Village Roadshow Studios in Australia, where filming on Thor 3 is taking place. The actor also posted a photo with director Taika Waititi last week, where he teased how much fun the movie will be, while trying to promote the director's latest release The Hunt For the Wilderpeople. Since filming on Ragnarok has just begun, hopefully we'll be seeing much more from the set in the weeks and months ahead.

"Just had a very constructive story meeting with our Thor 3 director @taikawaititi - gonna be a lotta fun. If you haven't seen his other film yet @huntforthewilderpeople, go see it! It's got more heart, humor and fun than a bag of marshmallows. It opens tomorrow in LA/NYC and everywhere in July. Visit wilderpeople.film to buy tickets !!"

Production is expected to last through October with additional pick-up days scheduled for 2017. Two-time Oscar-winner Cate Blanchett joins this Marvel Studios' adventure as the mysterious and powerful new villain Hela, along with Jeff Goldblum, who joins the cast as the eccentric Grandmaster, Tessa Thompson who will bring the classic hero Valkyrie to life on the big screen, and Karl Urban who will add his might to the fray as Skurge. Rounding out the cast for the film is three-time Oscar-nominee Mark Ruffalo, reprising his role of Bruce Banner/the Hulk from Marvel's The Avengers and Marvel's Avengers: Age of Ultron. Take a look at the new video and photo from the set of Thor: Ragnarok as production continues.
