Malekith the Accursed threatens to destroy earth and the Nine Realms in Thor: The Dark World. In the aftermath of the attack on New York, Thor (Chris Hemsworth) races to save the cosmos from an ancient race led by this vengeful ruler, who has returned from the depths of space to plunge the entire universe back into darkness.

Thor cannot protect Asgard alone, as Malekith forces him to team up with his brother Loki (Tom Hiddleston) in what will become the pair's most perilous and personal journey yet. While it will reunite him with Jane Foster (Natalie Portman), it will also threaten everything he holds dear, just to save us all from immanent death.
