Over the past few days, we've shown you photos and video from the Surrey, U.K. set of Thor: The Dark World. Today, we don't have any new images or video, although a new rumor has emerged that one of the main characters will be killed off in this superhero sequel. Be warned, there may be spoilers included below, so read on at your own risk.

Some insiders are "pretty sure" that Anthony Hopkins' Odin will meet his maker, although nothing has been confirmed yet. It is possible that the death of Thor's father could be a key plot point to be used down the road in another sequel, or even in The Avengers 2.

Alan Taylor (Game of Thrones) is directing from a screenplay by Don Payne (Thor). Chris Hemsworth returns as the mighty title character, with Tom Hiddleston (Loki), Jaimie Alexander (Sif), and Idris Elba (Heimdall) reprising their roles from Thor.
