The editor of a 2009 horror film is segueing into the director's chair for a follow-up to that film. Heat Vision Blog is reporting that editor Tom Elkins will make his feature directorial debut with The Haunting in Georgia.

Elkins served as the editor of last year's successful horror film The Haunting in Connecticut and will direct from a script by David Coggeshall. The film will be in the same vein as The Haunting in Connecticut, centering on a family who struggles to deal with the ghostly inhabitants of their new Southern home.

A release date hasn't been set by Gold Circle Films, but it was said the production is eyeing an August start date.
