Tom Hanks Wants to Play The Flash or a Super Villain in Batman Vs. Superman
With his latest drama Captain Phillips receiving rave reviews, there's a good chance that Tom Hanks may take home his third Oscar for his performance next year. Even with all of his success, the beloved actor has still never taken on the superhero genre, something which he would like to change. During a recent interview, Tom Hanks revealed he would do anything to play the villain in Batman Vs. Superman or The Flash.
"No, [it's not a choice], they don't ask me and I keep trying...Come on, I can do it [laughs]. Let me play a bad guy, let me play the bad guy against Batman. I'll do anything, come on! Call me. They've never asked. What do I have to do? God, I want to throw a shield at somebody. I want that. And I don't want to play the guy in the suit who tells the superheroes what's going on, I don't want to be that guy. 'Well, you know Batman...Captain America, Iron Man, here's what we've discovered.' I don't want to be that guy. I want to get in there, I want to play The Flash or something like that. They'll never give me a chance."
While it seems that the actor is just randomly name-dropping different superheroes, he does seem incredibly eager to play either a hero or a villain. Could you see Tom Hanks squaring off against Ben Affleck's Batman? Would he be right for The Flash? Are there any particular superheroes or villains you think are right for an actor of Tom Hanks' stature? Let us know!
