Tom Hiddleston replaces Benedict Cumberbatch in Crimson Peak Just weeks after Benedict Cumberbatch dropped out of Crimson Peak, Legendary Pictures has already found its replacement in Tom Hiddleston.

Charlie Hunnam, Jessica Chastain and Mia Wasikowska are attached to star in this haunted house thriller, although no specific story or character details have been revealed at this time.

Guillermo del Toro is directing from a screenplay he is currently rewriting with Lucinda Coxon, from an original draft the director co-wrote with Matthew Robbins.

Legendary Pictures is financing the project, with Universal Pictures distributing and retaining the right to co-finance the thriller at a later date. Production is scheduled to begin in February 2014.

Tom Hiddleston will next be seen in Thor: The Dark World this fall and in Muppets Most Wanted next year.

Crimson Peak comes to theaters October 16th, 2015.
