It seems the star and director of Muriel's Wedding's are reuniting on a new film project. Variety is reporting that actress Toni Collette and director P.J. Hogan are collaborating on a new film project called Mental.

The story revolves around Collette's character, a bizarre, eccentric woman who turns a family's life upside down when she becomes the nanny for their five young children.

"Like Muriel's Wedding, Mental is a comedy, but a comedy based on reality, laced with pain and brimming with flawed but lovable characters. Shaz (the central character) was hilarious, outrageous, dangerous, courageous, inspiring, heartbreaking and totally, totally mad. And she changed my life," Hogan said.

Hogan will direct from his own script, which was taken from real-life experiences. No production schedule was released for the film.
