NBC has ordered a pilot for the American adaptation of the BBC's popular car show Top Gear. According to The Hollywood Reporter, it will stay true to the original and will be a mix of cars, humor, and celebrities.

Casting for the show is currently underway, and will be announced at the upcoming North American International Auto Show in Detroit. The show will be shot at a secret location in Los Angeles that has a racetrack and a hanger. It will be filmed before a live studio audience.

BBC's Paul Telegdy stated, "It's a show with a very edgy point of view. It's a celebration of car ownership but also a celebration of attitude and anti-establishment in every sense of the word. This is a favorite of all automobile companies as it shows their cars in such a great light."

The series will premiere at 11 p.m. on March 4th before moving to its regular time period at 10 p.m. March 11th.
