Reno 911! co-creator Robert Ben Garant has signed onto write an adaptation of the Japanese graphic novel Tuxedo Gin for Walt Disney Pictures.

The project is based on Tokihiko Matsuura's graphic novel, which tells the story of a young street fighter who passes away and is reincarnated as a small penguin. He learns that his selfish ways have only earned him enough karma to be reincarnated as a penguin, and so he spends the rest of his days trying to amass enough good deeds to return to his old body and save his girlfriend.

Robert Ben Garant will also executive produce Tuxedo Gin alongside Isamu Kamei. Peter Principato and Paul Young will produce Tuxedo Gin.

Robert Ben Garant normally writes with Reno 911! co-creator Thomas Lennon, but will go solo on Tuxedo Gin.
