SyFy Delays ‘Battlestar Galactica: The Plan’ Airing Once More

It seems that a highly-anticipated sci-fi TV movie won't be airing in 2009 after all. Air Lock Alpha is reporting that the two-hour TV film Battlestar Galactica: The Plan won't be airing in 2009 on the SyFy Channel.

It wasn't clear why the move was made, but a possible suggestion was that the movie was bumped in order to maximize DVD sales. Battlestar Galactica: The Plan is still set for a DVD and Blu-ray release on October 27.

We don't have any cover art images as of yet, but the standard DVD will be priced at $26.98 SRP and the Blu-ray will be priced at $39.98 SRP. The film stars Edward James Olmos (who also directs), Dean Stockwell, Tricia Helfer, Grace Park and Callum Keith Rennie.

Ronald Moore Gets Real with ‘Virtuality’

While sci-fi fans across the globe may still be mourning the loss of their beloved Battlestar Galactica, they can get a new dose of sci-fi action from the show's creator. Battlestar Galactica creator Ronald Moore has a new sci-fi venture in the two-hour TV movie, Virtuality, which premieres on Friday, June 26 at 8 PM ET on Fox. On August 7, 2008 Sci-Fi Channel officially announced the production of a two-hour TV movie which was originally supposed to air after the final episode of Season 4. It has since been rescheduled to air sometime in November of 2009. Written by Jane Espenson and directed by Edward James Olmos, Battlestar Galactica: The Plan storyline begins before the attack on the 12 colonies and will show events mainly from the perspective of two Cylon agents. Confirmed cast members include Edward James Olmos, Michael Trucco, Aaron Douglas and Dean Stockwell. Tricia Helfer, Grace Park, Rick Worthy, Matthew Bennett, Callum Keith Rennie, Michael Hogan and Rekha Sharma will also feature.
