John Goodman to Reunite with Roseanne Barr for ‘Downwardly Mobile’

John Goodman and Roseanne Barr played husband and wife for nine seasons on the classic late-80s sitcom Roseanne. Now, the pair are reuniting for Roseanne's latest project, the NBC Sitcom Downwardly Mobile.

John Goodman is in the process of signing onto the series as a regular resident of a mobile home park run by Roseanne in these trying economic times. He will play a man who works alongside Barr at the park, and the two share a "buddy" relationship.

NBC Picks Up Roseanne Barr's ‘Downwardly Mobile’ NBC has picked up a script commitment for Roseanne's multi-camera comedy comeback, Downwardly Mobile, which she is co-creating the series with former Roseanne writer/producer, Eric Gilliland. The comedy follows a working class family and friends living in a mobile home community.

The project by Twentieth Century Fox TV will also include writer John Argent and producer Steve Greener, who worked with the comedian on her previous project Roseanne's Nuts.

Roseanne Barr Set for ‘Downwardly Mobile’ Barr is returning to comedy TV, having set up a new project at 20th Century Fox Television with her longtime boyfriend Johnny Argent, titled Downwardly Mobile, about a close-knit blue-collar family living in tough economic times, harkening back to her days on Roseanne.

Roseanne Barr has already launched a reality series on Lifetime, titled Roseanne's Nuts, which premiered earlier this summer, and follows Barr as she runs a 40-acre macadamia nut farm in Hawaii.
