Flashpoint - Season 2
Flashpoint is a drama that depicts the emotional journey into the tough, risk-filled lives of a group of cops in the SRU. It's a unique unit that rescues hostages, busts gangs, defuses bombs, climbs the sides of buildings, and talks down suicidal teens. Members of a highly-skilled tactical team, they're also trained in negotiating, profiling, and getting inside the suspect's head to diffuse the situation to try and save lives.
The team have to protect some VIPs, only to find they have a kidnapping on their hands and limited time to rescue the victim.
A married couple has been trying to get pregnant for 8 long years and it's taken its toll on them and their marriage. The wife now suspects the husband is having an affair with an attractive lady reporter. She kidnaps the reporter and holds her hostage at knifepoint. SRU is called in to defuse the situation.
Sam and Jules continue to conceal their relationship but have second thoughts about moving forward.
“Haunting the Barn”
A former SRU veteran turns up at headquarters and holes himself up in a safe room where he intends to commit suicide. He diverts the team with a false bomb threat and gets them to abandon the station. Ed gets wind of the suicide attempt and having trained under this veteran for many years, he is able to talk him down and out of the room.
A past mission comes back to haunt Ed when he realizes the sniper that has taken over City Hall is the son of a gunman he killed on a mission several years before.
“Business as Usual”
The SRU team is called to the business district in order to diffuse the situation of three hard–working men, having lost everything in a mortgage scheme, take the CEO of the mortgage company hostage and are threatening not only to shoot him but one of them wants to turn himself into a human torch and burn down the building as well.
Still recovering from Jules being shot, the team reluctantly looks at recruits to fill her spot while she recovers; they are all impressed by the skills of a female recruit, Donna, but Parker has his apprehensions.
When an upper-class household is rocked by what appears to be a home invasion robbery gone bad, the SRU team is called in to save the 4 hostages, including 2 children; Parker and the team soon discover that the family's nanny, Irina, was compliant in the robbery and her boyfriend is the lead hostage-taker. When Irina realizes his true intentions, she begins cooperating with the SRU team while attempting to maintain the hostage-takers trust in order to protect the children she cares for.
The SRU team is assigned the task of transporting and protecting an infamous serial killer.
The SRU team is called in when two teenage boys, Donnie and Adam, attempt to rob a local food store.
“The Perfect Family”
The SRU finds themselves in pursuit of a young couple who has kidnapped their own baby back from the adoptive parents and stolen their car to flee the scene.
The SRU is called to a bank where an employee, whose wife is being held for ransom, hacks into the system to steal money to pay off her captors, but things take a turn when he realizes his own brother may be involved.
When a student brings a gun to school Sgt. Parker and the SRU team must figure out how to diffuse the situation before the student takes vengeance against some bullies.
When a woman finds out that she has a brain disease she teams up with her fiance and they begin leaving a trail of criminal activity behind them. The SRU team catches up with them at a ballroom where the two plan on killing themselves after sharing one last dance.
When a standoff between a gang and a man protecting his brother takes over a hospital the SRU team is sent in.
“One Wrong Move”
The SRU team must dismantle bombs set throughout the city by an eco-terrorist group, and a member of the team sacrifices his own life to save the lives of many others.
“Never Let You Down”
When a delusional man kidnaps a waitress with an uncanny resemblance to his missing daughter, the SRU team uses a different tactic to try and talk him out of hurting her. Meanwhile, a woman joins the unit after the death of one of the team members.
“Just a Man”
A prison riot breaks out and the SRU team has to help the civilians trapped inside,
When a woman kidnaps her two young children in order to keep her husband from getting custody of them, the SRU sweeps in and takes control of this dangerous situation to try to bring the children back safely to their father.
“Coming to You Live”
After hearing on the radio that a talk show host is holding a prominent politician hostage as revenge for a murder he thinks the man committed years ago, the SRU team races to rescue the politician by talking the host out of killing him live on-the-air.
The team must stop a cult leader from killing all his followers after they run across a young woman holding up a convenience store who resurfaced 15 years when she was taken in by the leader.
“You Think You Know Someone”
When Parker is taken hostage by meth dealers who have mistaken his identity, the SRU team jumps into action to try to find him.
“The Good Citizen”
When a local man viciously fights back against drug dealers who vandalize the bar he patronizes, the SRU team wonders if he's a concerned citizen or has another motive.
“Behind the Blue Line”
When a highly-trained sniper sets booby traps and shoots someone at a city landmark that's in the process of being demolished, the SRU team is called in to identify him.
