Free Agents - Season 1
"Free Agents" is a crooked, romantic comedy that explores the trials and tribulations of finding love and companionship - the second time around. Hank Azaria ("The Simpsons," "Huff") stars as newly divorced Alex, who is missing his kids and trying to keep himself together. Alex's co-worker Helen (Kathryn Hahn, "Hung") thinks she has it together, but she drinks too much in order to cope with her fiance's untimely death.
A pair of heartbroken co-workers tries to hold it together on the job after sleeping together.
“What I Did for Work”
Alex plays wingman to keep a client, while Emma tries to hook a date with feminine charm.
Helen scoops Alex's hot therapist to prove her sanity, and Emma gets a chance to prove her P.R. mettle.
When longtime Hale Dayton client Fred Potter (Tom Virtue, "Transformers: Dark of the Moon"), is caught in an extra-marital tryst, the team sets to work on damage control. As Stephen (Anthony Head) and Helen (Kathryn Hahn) mastermind the response for the client, Dan (Mo Mandel), Gregg (Al Madrigal) and Emma (Natasha Leggero) help Helen in a rebranding campaign of another sort, setting Alex up with a slick online profile and a cute new date.
“Nice Guys Finish...At Some Point”
When the Hale Dayton team hits the bars to do research for a new sherry campaign, Alex (Hank Azaria) is frustrated by Dan's (Mo Mandel) effortless success with women and decides he needs to adjust his approach. Meanwhile, Helen (Kathryn Hahn) decides she should try to get out more and starts socializing with Emma (Natasha Leggero) and her friends after work - but the late nights prove tough to take after a while. Anthony Head and Al Madrigal also star.
“Are You There, Helen? It's Me, God”
When Edith (Rachael Harris, "The Hangover," "Diary of a Wimpy Kid"), the sister of Helen's former fiance Pete, asks Helen to be a Godmother to her new baby, Helen is honored but she is not sure she's up to the task. Meanwhile, when one of Hale Dayton's competitors passes away, Stephen (Anthony Head) sees an opportunity to land new business and the group heads off to the funeral on a mission... to poach clients. Hank Azaria, Natasha Leggero, Al Madrigal, Mo Mandel and Joe Lo Truglio also star.
“The Kids Are Probably Alright”
When Alex (Hank Azaria) learns that his ex-wife is seeing a super-achiever lawyer who is treating his kids to helicopter rides and boat excursions, he enlists the help of Walter (Joe Lo Truglio) to do a little research on the guy. Elsewhere at the office, Stephen (Anthony Head) assigns Helen (Kathryn Hahn) the task of mending the reputation of a young beauty-queen client who has been caught in a scandal and Helen embraces the job as if the girl were her own daughter. Natasha Leggero, Mo Mandel and Al Madrigal also star.
“Sexin' The Raisin”
When Helen (Kathryn Hahn) comes up with a creative campaign to glamorize Oregon raisins by making them more sexy, Stephen (Anthony Head) and the client are thrilled. Worried that is going too far with the campaign, however, Helen calls in her former Women's Studies professor to consult on the project. Meanwhile, when Alex (Hank Azaria) strikes up a "casual thing" with a woman in his building, he finds that dating has changed over the years, and he must negotiate the boundaries between "hooking up" and "hanging out."
